The Department of INTERNATIONAL RELATIONS organizes an international conference on the theme of:
DISARMAMENT AND ARMS LIMITATION
- Is there such a thing as a limited war?
- The Geneva Conventions and the Limitation of Arms and Methods of War
- Strategic Arms Limitation and Non Proliferation
- Conventional Arms Limitation
The threat of nuclear proliferation has become a reality in India and Pakistan, is a serious threat in the Middle East, and this year the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT) is set for renegotiation.
On the side of the UN Conference on Disarmament this month, 2010 will be a test for nuclear cooperation and reduction. Moreover, since the 1980s increasing efforts have targeted conventional and small arms limitation and ban.
